Collaborative work with Anouk Sebastien, presented to Arcelik.
Together we developed a methodology that questions our individual practices with the case study of the washing machine (as opposed historically to the public laundry).
In the course of this research, we seek to imagine and establish a sustainable practice of daily life that would suit us. It's a question of discovering, deconstructing, and questioning our acquired and individual practices.
After two months of experimentation, we found our rhythm in a practice that finally meets both our needs. We assumed that sustainability in home appliances relied only on energy saving. Slowly, during the process, we realized that social values were a layer of our practice. They were necessary for the good functioning of our contract, and therefore we started acknowledging them. We stopped focusing on the quantification of our research and started appreciating and giving value to the shared rituals.
